A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
